Cycling for All Ages. Trishaw Spins to feel the freedom and joy of being out on a bike. Residents from Skibbereen Residential Care Centre & Retirement Village will get the opportunity to take a bicycle ride around Skibbereen.

TY Students @ Cycle Sense Workshop
Tuesday 14th May 10am-12am
Skibbereen community school transition year students will be finishing the bikes they have been working on.
The students have been coming to the Cycle Sense workshop for 5 weeks. They have taken bikes apart and rebuilt them back to a working bike.

The BIG Cycle Bus – Cycle to school for Bike Week
Thursday 16th May First stop 8.25am
Start the day in a wheely good way!
Cycle with your friends and family in safety and fun.
In partnership with Safe Routes to School we want to see how many kids can cycle to school for Bike Week! Goody bag at the end. Open to all primary school children and parents. Ask your teacher at school for the Cycle Bus route and schedule. St Patrick’s BNS, St Joseph’s GNS, Gaelscoil Dr. Uí Shúilleabháin & Abbeystrewry NS.
No need to be a member of the Cycle Bus for this event.
Family Cycling Fun @ the Fairfield
Thursday 16th May 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Location: Fairfield Skibbereen
Fun for all ages and abilities, an inclusive obstacle course, games, bike doctor and a group cycle around Skibbereen

TORC Sustainable Housing

Bike Event, to promote healthy activities, check the safety of bicycles and encourage cycling, educate about safe cycling.

The West Cork Sports Inclusion Showcase
Friday 17th May from 10.30-1.30pm.
Maria Immaculata Community College Dunmanway
Promote sport and physical activity for people with a disability.
Open to people with disabilities, disability services, families, teachers, sports coaches or anyone interested in sport or physical activity for people of all abilities.
There will be a variety of activities for people to come and try on the day along with an opportunity to meet clubs and organisations.
Cycling for Everyone
Saturday 18th 3.30pm
Location: Skibbereen Library
This event is all about caring for a bike and simple maintenance. Participants use different pumps and are taught how to do a puncture repair and how to avoid them. Plus how to thoroughly check over a bike – called the M Check.
Active travel and the health and environmental benefits of cycling will also be discussed.

Picnic Cycle to the Beach

Meeting: 12.45 – 1pm Abbeystrewry NS, Castletownshend Rd, Skibbereen
Cycle through the beautiful Liss Ard estate, to the beach. Aimed at children and families and members of the Skibbereen Cycle Bus to have a protected slow cycle with delicious food from the Eagle pub at Tragumna beach.
